Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Before embarking on this 3 day Rwanda gorilla trekking safari, you will have first have an early breakfast at your place of stay in Kigali after which you will transfer with the help of our guide to Volcanoes National Park 116km about 3 hours’ drive. You will arrive early for Lunch and simple relaxation. In the afternoon, you will either embark on the nature walk to the awesome twin lakes of Ruhondo and Burera amidst magical bird sights and amazing scenery or you can opt for the Iby’ iwachu cultural village to have a detailed encounter of the Kinyarwanda Culture.


Virunga Lodge (Upmarket/luxury), Gorilla Mountain View Lodge (Midrange/standard) or Kinigi Guest House (Budget/basic).

Day 2: Experience the magical gorilla trekking & return to Kigali.

Wake up for an early cup of coffee, before gathering at Kinigi Park Headquarters for briefing about the gorilla trekking activity at 08:00am always conducted by park rangers. This is designed to detail the dos and don’ts while trekking gorillas. After briefing, you will traverse the jungle in search of the splendid mountain gorillas in the company of the park ranger guide which stretches between 2 – 8 hours. You will walk through the luxuriant vegetation, climb raised gradients, ascend down the valleys before you encounter the great mountain gorillas as they munch their food and get astonished by the young gorillas playing and demonstrating their tactics which will prompt you to use up your camera space unknowingly. Your one hour with gorillas is done and it is time for you to trek back to the starting to transfer back to Kigali city.

Day 3: Encounter the city of Kigali.

After your breakfast, embark on Kigali city tour as a conclusive activity on your gorilla trekking safari in Rwanda. On this city tour, you have a lot to enjoy ranging from the sorrowful Gisozi Genocide memorial site to the Presidential Palace which belonged to the former president Juvenal Habyarimana where you will also be able to see the remains of the FALCON 50 presidential plane that was brought down on 6th April 1994. You will also encounter the amazing Kigali suburbs including down town Kigali and Hotel des Mille Collines – the site for the Movie Hotel Rwanda. You will have Lunch in town and the evening can be reserved for departure.

Ruzizi Tented Lodge

Ruzizi Tented Camp has nine (9) tents which can up to twenty (20) clients. Every tent features an en suite bathroom that has cold and hot running water, dressing area, either 3/4 twin beds or comfortable queen beds, a front side patio and each tent is accessed by wooden board walks that lead to and from the main reception area.
Ruzizi Tented Camp has a family tent that can accommodate up to four (4) people and a tree top tent. It also has a thatched central reception area along with a dinning and lounge bar. There is an extensive deck that has a fire place under a large fig tree with the view of Lake Ihema.

Akagera Game Lodge

The Akagera Game Lodge is located within the park close to its southern entrance. The Lodge features a swimming pool, conference center and a tennis court. Accommodation is offered in standard rooms, deluxe, family and Junior Suite. The lodge features over 60 bed rooms.

The Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel is a midrange accommodation establishment in Nyungwe Forest National Park presenting an impressive ground for chimpanzee trekking, canopy walk and the forest hikes. The lodge features a camp fire in the rooms if you wish or out in the open after dinner with impressive traditional Kinyarwanda dance performances.
Accommodation at Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel is offered in twelve (12) units and four (4) of these feature twin beds while the eight (8) are apartments featuring queen sized beds. The rooms are self-contained. The Hotel also has a restaurant and a well-stocked bar.

Gisakura Guesthouse

Positioned at 2km distance outside Nyungwe Forest National Park. Gisakura guesthouse offers accommodation in twin, double and triple rooms which are self-contained and with provision of warm water on request. The Guesthouse also features a good restaurant.

Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge is positioned close to the Volcanoes Park Headquarters is about few minutes’ drive. Accommodation is provided in six cottages with two (2) suites with private verandas, inbuilt ablutions and living room overseeing fireplace.

Buhoma Community Rest Camp


Buhoma Community Rest Camp is majorly a midrange accommodation center but it also offers affordable lodging for travelers on a budget. Lodging is offered in six (6) self-contained safari tents, three (3) self-contained cottages and two (2) non-self-contained twin cottages. The accommodation centers are built in African architectural style and they dissolve in the gorgeousness of the park.

Lake Kitandara Bwindi Camp


The lodge offers comfort at the midrange level without compromising the environment. Its architecture involves traditionally sourced materials. The accommodation center has twenty (20) self-contained tents which offer great comfort to their guests. All tents feature comfortable beds, solar energy that is available for all hours of the day, en-suite washrooms with hot and cold showers and elegant furniture.

Buhoma Lodge


This lodge can be found inside the park with ten (10) relaxed cottages that have private verandahs from which guests can enjoy vistas of the park especially the Buhoma sector which is home to the Mubare, Rushegura and Habinyanja mountain gorilla families. Guests will find facilities like a comfy bed, en-suite bathroom facilities which feature hot and cold showers and a bath tub for some rooms

Kibale Safari Lodge

Kibale Safari Lodge is located on the way to Bigodi in Kanyanchu. Guest accommodation is offered in two (2) rooms on the main lodge building and five (5) other private luxury cottages which are well furnished and comfortable. The cottages have private toilets and showers with both cold and hot water. Meals and drinks are served in the onsite restaurant and the well-stocked bar.

This is a budget range hotel which offers pleasant and comfortable accommodation. The rooms feature a fireplace each, internet and cable TV, fans, en-suite toilets with hot and cold water for a fine shower in this chilly area of the country. The hotel has a well-stocked bar and an onsite restaurant which serves delicious meals. Conference facilities are also offered at the hotel but require timely booking before they can be availed. Kisoro Travelers’ Rest Hotel

Situated about 14km from Mgahinga Gorilla National Park the hotel can be found in the district and town of Kisoro. The hotel rooms range from single, twin, double, triple and a suite which all include en-suite washrooms that contain hot and cold piped water. In the lounge area, tourists can warm up at the fireplace and can also enjoy free Wi-Fi internet.

Birdnest at Bunyonyi Resort

This resort is located just near Lake Bunyonyi in southwestern Uganda and just a few kilometers from the boarders of Tanzania, Congo DR and Rwanda.
