Positioned in a tranquil natural ground of an eroded ancient volcano cone, the Bisate Lodge derives its name from the pieces (known as bisate in Kinyarwanda) of volcanic cone that was worn away by denudation forces. It stands among the top notch accommodation facilities in the Rwanda gorilla safari destination of Volcanoes National Park.
The new Lodge enjoys incredible views of Karisimbi, Bisoke and Mikeno Volcanic Mountains which are part of the Virunga Massif comprising of eight volcanic mountains straddling from Uganda through Rwanda to Democratic Republic of Congo and home to 480 Mountain Gorillas – more than a half of their global population. The area is popular destination for gorilla safaris in Uganda Rwanda Congo.
Accommodation at Bisate Lodge is presented in six (6) lush en suite rooms with incredible interior comfort all rotating on the amazing architecture of traditional Rwanda. It offers a complete touch for the top notch travellers on gorilla trekking safari in Rwanda.
The Bisate lodge intends to contribute to sustainable Mountain Gorilla conservation initiatives. A range of 172 plots have already been purchased and 15,000 trees have been planted to broaden the Gorilla habitat. The lodge used as much local labour as possible along with local materials. The beautiful Rwandan made interiors are clearly visible at the lodge including the unique art works such as Imigongo – one of the famous Rwanda tour artworks.
